In Partnership and Equity: Cambium Learning Group Supports Innovation for Equity’s 2024 HBCU EdTech Summit and Career Fair
Learn how Cambium is investing in equity and access for historically marginalized communities to learn about career opportunities in the edtech industry.
At the beginning of February, a team from Cambium Learning Group, including our CEO Ashley Andersen Zantop, Success Services team members Henna Ali and Aaron Lipford, and myself had the opportunity to attend Innovation for Equity’s (IFE) 2nd Annual EdTech Summit and Career Fair, held on the campus of Howard University in Washington D.C.
IFE holds a special place in my professional journey. I was introduced to the organization in 2022 through connections Cambium had established with their leadership team. With the support of Ashley and Cambium Assessment President Steve Kromer, I was soon recommended to IFE’s Senior Leadership Fellows Program, which I graduated from in December 2023 with 15 amazing professionals from diverse areas within education and edtech.
As the 2024 EdTech Summit and Career Fair approached, I was asked to serve as its inaugural emcee, allowing me to represent Cambium and our commitment to this work on the main stage. Over the course of the two-day experience, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a myriad of keynote addresses and breakout sessions centered on topics from nurturing diverse talent in edtech development to unveiling the federal government’s role in digital equity. We had the opportunity to learn from industry experts, share best practices, and network across the diverse ecosystem that is education and edtech.
Attendees also had the opportunity to network with and provide mentorship for upwards of 200 students at Howard University during the career fair, with our colleagues in Success Services providing information on various open opportunities among the Cambium family of brands.
I am so proud of Cambium’s investment in both IFE and the EdTech Summit. As a Corporate Member, we are demonstrating the importance of creating opportunities for equity and access by supporting the initiatives of IFE and opening doors for students and young people from historically marginalized communities to learn more about careers in the edtech industry.
Through our continued support and partnership with IFE, Cambium continues to prove our values of ensuring that all students are seen, valued, and supported.
