Carrying Momentum into 2021
At Cambium Learning Group, throughout this tumult, we’ve ramped up investments in our mission to address the most essential challenges facing PreK-12 education through our portfolio of digital learning brands.
Educators, parents and learners endured a challenging 2020 with remote and hybrid learning environments becoming the new normal as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. At Cambium Learning Group, throughout this tumult, we’ve ramped up investments in our mission to address the most essential challenges facing PreK-12 education through our portfolio of digital learning brands.
This uncompromising commitment to our goals has allowed us to reach more learners, and empower more educators with critical digital education solutions. Looking back over the past several months, we’ve reached important milestones that have set our team up for success in the year ahead.
- We grew quickly and reached more learners: Despite difficult circumstances, the Cambium family of brands rose to the challenge—through targeted product and go-to-market investments, Cambium’s Lexia Learning, Learning A-Z, Time4Learning, and ExploreLearning brands organically grew approximately 50% in 2020. Voyager Sopris Learning’s LETRS product, the market-leading professional learning solution for literacy educators, grew nearly 100% in 2020 and nearly 600% over the last three years. And Learning A-Z expanded access to its digital literacy solutions in response to the pandemic, and to date has more than 12.5 billion downloads.
- We expanded our portfolio of digital-centric brands: As we continued to curate our house of PreK-12 digital-first brands, Cambium acquired Cambium Assessment at the start of 2020, which was recently selected to support the Texas Education Agency in its development, administration, scoring and reporting for the Texas Student Assessment Program. In October 2020, we closed the acquisition of Rosetta Stone®, which included its literacy division, Lexia Learning — adding to our already-strong literacy portfolio. To maintain our focus on PreK-12 education solutions, we recently divested Rosetta Stone’s Languages Division to IXL Learning.
- We added to our executive leadership team: Growing our house of brands means that we need to have the right leaders in place to push Cambium to the next level. We’ve added seasoned executive talent to our team, including Chief Operating Officer Ashley Andersen Zantop, Chief Marketing Officer John Jorgenson, Chief People Officer Melissa Yates May and Chief Legal Officer Sean Klein.
Looking ahead, we will continue to focus on our core elements of simplicity, certainty and now to ensure all educators and students feel seen and supported as they enter another wave of change. We are excited to continue building on this momentum to help address the most pressing issues facing educators, parents and teachers today.
