Introducing Cambium Learning Group: The Education Essentials Company.™
We focus on three elements we believe are the most essential to the success of education: the elements of simplicity, certainty and now.
It’s undeniable—the pandemic has put the U.S. education system under immense pressure that is being felt on a daily basis by students, teachers, administrators and parents. Cambium Learning—always optimistic about the power of education and technology—chooses to embrace this unprecedented challenge. Indeed, we believe this is the moment to finally ensure that students and teachers are—once and for all—universally seen and valued.
As a company, Cambium has been intentionally built to include only the strongest education technology brands: Lexia Learning, Learning A-Z, Voyager Sopris Learning, ExploreLearning, Kurzweil Education, Cambium Assessment, Rosetta Stone and Time4Learning. But there’s much more to Cambium than a collection of great brands. That’s why, over the last year, we’ve worked with our Cambium colleagues and spoken with our customers and partners about what ideas connect these brands together. Through that work, we’ve gotten to the essence of our story: Cambium Learning Group is the education essentials company. Many education brands talk about their why, but they neglect to focus on how they bring that why to life. Cambium isn’t like other education brands.
Today Cambium is launching a new brand identity that directly reflects who we are and, most importantly, who we aspire to be: a collection of brands all committed to having the greatest impact on education’s most pressing challenges. How do we do that? We focus on three elements we believe are the most essential to the success of education: the elements of simplicity, certainty and now. We apply this focus with intention, using it to guide our business strategy, our solutions, and our voice as leaders. It defines both what we do and how we do it, positioning our brands as critical resources to the people and organizations we serve.
Simplicity: Education today is anything but simple. But parents, teachers, students and administrators all need solutions that easily and effectively solve real learning challenges. Whether teachers are looking for the best ways to assess their students, or parents are looking for a robust homeschooling curriculum that kids actually enjoy using, simplicity is the way we make sure our partners are not only able to use our solutions, but that they want to.
Certainty: Cambium’s brands can be counted on to bring certainty to today’s teachers and learners. Since 2003, Cambium’s house of brands collectively has decades of experience in education and technology. For example, more than 500,000 K-12 students first began using Lexia Learning’s literacy programs while learning remotely this past spring. Stated simply, we work to support all teachers and students, wherever learning is happening, and to help them feel like they are never alone.
Now: The current pandemic has placed a spotlight on our education system, highlighting long-standing weaknesses and inequities. Remote learning has become a way of life for many children and the need for innovative, easy-to-use solutions at home and in the classroom has never been more urgent. A staggering 93% of people in homes with young children say their children are taking part in distance learning from home. Unlike many brands, content to focus on vague promises about a distant future, Cambium’s products and services strive to help teachers and students make the most of every learning moment—right here, right now. In other words, the element of now is about building the future one step at a time, which is exactly what teachers are tasked with doing each day.
Across our company, we welcome our role as vocal advocates for education essentials, seeking to elevate simplicity, certainty and the power of now. By emphasizing this focus, we feel confident that, together with our education partners, we can finally make meaningful progress against education's greatest challenges—to help all teachers and students feel valued and supported.
